Matt Black is a technology, intellectual property, and data privacy lawyer with more than 15 years of experience advising clients on data privacy, artificial intelligence, and complex technology transactions.
He has served as lead counsel across a range of industries, including financial services, media, and AI and data-focused startups, with experience negotiating enterprise SaaS, software, cloud, and data agreements.
Matt has advised C-suite leaders on AI development and deployment strategy, cybersecurity risk, and intellectual property development and protection, and has served as Data Protection Officer for companies operating across multiple jurisdictions. His privacy practice spans GDPR, CCPA, data breach response, and the design and implementation of enterprise privacy programs.
Prior to his in-house career, Matt practiced at Proskauer Rose and Ropes & Gray, where he counseled clients on technology transactions, licensing, intellectual property, and data security matters.
